TIME TO GARDEN!

Greetings AHS Gardeners!

Things are getting rolling in the Garden Club!

The Garden Club met last Thursday and will be jumping into action THIS WEEK on Seed Prep and Planting!

We want to invite all interested Parents, Staff and Students to drop by and participate in any of the following activities.

All activities meet in Jessica McCallum’s Humanities Classroom Downstairs

MONDAYS  AFTER SCHOOL from 3:15 – 4:30

                TODAY: Planting Prep and SALSA PROJECT–  All interested Gardeners, Please join us!

·          Robin Austin, India Waller, Elizabeth Duncan and Sharon Scott  for
·         Pulling out pots, digging up soil, and SALSA PROJECT PLANNING
SALSA PROJECT:  We will be growing, harvesting and Canning SALSA from start to finish!

TUESDAYS  at LUNCH

                TOMORROW:  Planting Prep and WORM PROJECT – All interested Gardeners, Please join us!

·         Rachael Sands, Carly Pearson, and Clara Gray-Stallings for
·         Pulling out pots, digging up soil, and WORM PROJECT PLANNING
o   WORM PROJECT:  we will be growing and harvesting worms, and worm compost .  Currently Rachael Sands has been fostering the AHS worms at her house over the winter.

WEDNESDAYS AFTER SCHOOL from 3:15 – 4:30

                THIS WEDNESDAY: All interested Gardeners, Please join us!

·         Jessica McCallum, Sharon S. any other interested students:
·         Pulling out pots (if still needed), SALAD & FLOWER PROJECT S PLANNING
o   SALAD PROJECT:  We will be growing salad greens, vege’s, and edible flowers to share at AHS SALAD LUNCHES.
o   FLOWER PROJECT – we will be planning, planting, and caring for the flower pots in the front of the school.  Emily Wieser  and one or two other students (whoever is interested) will be heading up this project.

THURSDAYS AT LUNCH and AFTER SCHOOL    

 from 11:25 to 12:05       and 3:15 to 4:30

                THIS THURSDAY AT LUNCH AND AFTER SCHOOL:  All interested Gardeners, Please join us!

·         All  available gardeners will be PLANTING SEEDS as well as flowers in the flower pots.



PLEASE BRING:

                SEEDS, SEEDS, SEEDS!!!!!  We are relying on donated seeds this year – we need your left-over, hoarded, or saved seeds to get our garden started.  Even consider buying a package of new seeds to donate!

                GLOVES – Please plan to bring your own pair of gardening gloves.

                YOURSELF, YOUR FRIENDS, and GARDENING IDEAS , EXPERTISEand ENTHUSIASM!
